I kept following the problems that pulled me in.

I’m Ahmet Yasir Demir, a Product Engineer with a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I build independent digital products and work across the questions around them: what to build, how to make it work, and what to improve after release.

CURIOSITY

Gradient descent was the first pull.

At university, Andrew Ng’s courses gave me a way into machine learning. I wanted to understand how the models worked.

I built models and worked on fine-tuning projects, face verification, computer vision and audio-based fatigue classification.

I also worked with hardware and real-time control. Those projects gave me different ways to investigate a problem and build a system around it.

OWNERSHIP

I wanted something of my own.

From late 2024, I began focusing on mobile apps. Building my own products meant making decisions about the experience, pricing, release and how people would discover them.

PetAI began with my interest in animals. Save It grew from the frustration of saving useful things across different apps and struggling to return to them.

A working product is not automatically a necessary product.

I had to look beyond whether the software worked. I wanted to understand what made it useful enough to choose again.

LEARNING

I began looking more closely at behaviour.

I started inspecting App Store Connect and Firebase data, working with BigQuery, updating products and learning more about distribution.

Those questions led me further into product strategy, analytics and experimentation. I’m developing that practice through my own products, alongside a more deliberate study of experiment design and statistics.

NOW

I build independent products and stay with the questions around them.

Today, I build apps and digital systems. I use Ghaith Labs to bring my apps together and give people a place to explore them. My apps are currently published under my own name.

I like understanding the reasoning behind a decision. I ask questions when something is unclear, and I value feedback that helps me see where my own thinking falls short.

HARDWARE ROOTS

I also learned through physical systems.

I worked with Raspberry Pi, sensors, UART communication and real-time control. In these projects, a software decision could become a motor command or a sensor reading that the next action depended on.
